Our Will writing services

We are full members of the Institute of Professional Willwriters. So we have the experience and qualifications to help you plan what happens to your estate when you die, and write your Will for you.

Should you make a Will?

It's important for everybody to make a Will - even if you don't have much money and don't own your own home. If you make a Will, you can be certain of who benefits from what you do have, and it will be easier for your family to manage your affairs when you die.

If you don't leave a Will:

  • the people you would like to benefit from your estate, may not be provided for
  • your partner will not automatically inherit from you if you're not married or in a civil partnership
  • there will be no arrangements to look after any children you leave behind
  • you risk much of your estate going to the government in Inheritance Tax
  • your family may find it difficult to settle your affairs.

Writing your Will

The PWS can help you make your Will. You can feel safe in the knowledge that your family will be looked after financially, and your possessions and property will be divided up in line with your wishes. We can:

  • go through the details of your estate with you - at your home or work if it is easier for you
  • recommend the best ways to limit the amount of Inheritance Tax your beneficiaries will pay

Dealing with the estate of a deceased relative can be distressing and overwhelming. If you would like to relieve your family of this burden when you die, we are happy to act as your executors and administer your estate for them.

For more information on how we can help administer estates, go to settling estates and Probate applications.

If you need to change your existing Will

You may have to change your Will if you remarry or have a child for example. Often you can use a codicil to make a small amendment. But if you are making big changes, it's usually best to draw up another Will.

If you're not sure what you need to do, then please do get in touch. We will be happy to discuss your proposed changes and rewrite your Will in the most appropriate way for you.
